Frequently Asked Questions
The first step is to get to know my client and their case, whether it be through a face-to-face meeting or an initial phone call. In my initial assessment I will establish what has led to the marriage break-up and identify all of the emotional / legal issues involved.
Within the coaching sessions, I work together with you to prioritize your issues, identify where you are at emotionally and discuss your long term goals. Then, together, we will devise action steps needed to take so that you are able to find the right solutions as you transition from married to unmarried.
The short answer is no, why? A counsellor helps you to uncover what’s happened in the past and how it has formed you to be who you are. In divorce coaching we will talk about where you are now, establish your best-self and talk about your future goals. I am here to help launch your new-you into the future with certainty, not dwell at the past.
“Don’t look back. You`re not going that way”
Making this decision takes a lot of energy and courage. If you are struggling and your emotions are getting the better of you, I can help you. At this stage it is important to establish how you want to proceed. As a divorce coach I can put into place an immediate action plan to address your fears, concerns and keep you emotionally in check. As a divorce lawyer I can help you go through and establish your legal issues and any concerns that arise from them.
From this point forward it is important to formulate a course of action through researching options for any legal representation that you may require.
